The Good News Is…
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the meaning of life and why I’m here. Sure, I’ve done some things that seem worthwhile. I’ve given birth to three lovely children and helped them along their way. I’ve written some things that have been published and even won some awards.
But lots of people have given birth, or raised children, or had some success with their chosen careers. So it seems like there has to be more to life than that. Or is there? Is it that we all have some divine purpose to fulfill, only some become famous while others toil in obscurity?
What sets apart people like Albert Einstein, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr., and Mahatma Ghandi from Robert Clark, Donna Braziel, Aaron Carter, or Chandra Pemmasani? It reminds me of the movie “Amadeus” in which Salieri was jealous of Mozart’s talent. Maybe it was just that Mozart was gifted with a talent different from the one that Salieri had. Instead of being jealous, it might have been more productive for Salieri to discover his uniqueness and spend his life pursuing that.
No matter what makes you special and sets you apart from others, I believe that we all have a responsibility to be kind and help one another to the best of our abilities. I think we’re here to give and receive love and to use our creative gifts to make the world a better place. I believe that’s why we are all placed on this Earth: to brighten the lives of others and learn what we can do to leave this world in some way improved because we lived.
Joke: I tried New Age Thinking, but so far, it hasn’t made me any younger.

Advice: Be grateful when you can give someone else a few minutes of your time or the last cookie. It’s in giving to others that we can find true happiness.
