On Dad’s 80th, Thanks…To All!

Last weekend we had a party to celebrate my dad turning 80-years-old.  Although there were a few unexpected challenges, overall the party went quite well.  And who do I have to thank for it?  Everyone!

I want to thank the people who took the time to travel and show up.  Some traveled further than others, but everyone who came made the day very special for my dad.  He’s a very social guy, so it meant a lot for him to have so many people he loved there to share it with him.

I want to thank the people who contributed financially, made food, brought coolers and ice, and helped set up the decorations before the party.  We only had one hour to set up everything, and we somehow got it done.  It took all the people who were there helping out to make the room look great!

I want to thank all the people who took pictures and helped out during the party.  Thanks to the singers and to the one who made the slide show.  And for those who helped clean up after the party, I want to thank them as well.  We only had an hour to leave the room like we found it, and a whole bunch of people pitched in to help.  Somehow it all got done, but I never could have done it alone.

A lot of people want to give me credit for this party, but looking back, there is NO WAY I could have done it without all the helpers I had.  It is humbling to realize how amazing my friends and family are.  They are so helpful, and this party was truly a team effort.  Not sure how many of you read my blog, but I just wanted you to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you!

If only the world would cooperate in such a way, and people would try to help whenever they can, then the world would be a better place to live. Thanks to everyone who helped me make my dad’s 80th birthday party such a great day!  I love you all!

Joke:  If age is only in the mind, then my mirror must be playing tricks on me.

Advice:  Always remember that your success probably required the help of others.  Don’t forget to say “Thank You.”
